The Beautiful Scenery of Guilin

Guilin is located in the northeast of Guangxi Province, which is a world famous tourist
attractions and historical cultural city. Located in the west bank of the Lijiang River, it is
named Guilin because of its rich sweet-scented and osmanthus and osmanthus trees.
Typical karst topography constitutes a unique landscape of Guilin. The Scenery of Guilin
is the general term of Guilin tourism resources. Guilin landscape is a wide range with
many beautiful types of scenery. “Guilin’s scenery is the most beautiful in China,” so
goes a Chinese saying. The scenery of Guilin includes mountains, rivers, caves, stone
carvings and so on.
The Lijiang River
The Lijiang River scenic area of Guilin is the most famous karst scenic spot in China.
There are grotesque peaks standing facing each other, along with flying waterfalls, hills
rising one upon another and water as clear as a mirror.

Elephant Trunk Hill
It is on the west bank of Lijiang River and it is called elephant trunk hill because it looks
vividly like an elephant dipping its trunk into the river to drink water.

Duxiu Peak
Duxiu Peak is one of the ten major attractions in Guilin, with the winding 306 stone steps
leading to the summit of the peak. On the cliff there are inscriptions of poems by the literati
of past dynasties, which are of certain artistic and historical significance.

The Seven-Star Cave
It is on the east bank of Lijiang River and the most famous cave in Guilin.It falls into upper,
middle and lower levels. There are many stalactites, underground galleries, stone pillars and
can be found in the cave.
In a word, the scenery of Guilin is incomparably attractive.
